In the mid 1970s, Pet Stop® President John Purtell acquired the first pet containment patent in the industry from Richard Peck, creator of the first containment system.  Richard's product called "Sta-Put."  John FOUNDED and named INVISIBLE FENCE®, turning the brand into the best known brand in the pet containment business.

In 2002, as Invisible Fence Company was first bought out, John saw the opportunty to retool and rebrand. "His" name brand now made in China, John has again hired Chief Engineer Scott Touchton, Chief Manufacturing Engineer Richard Kapolka and IT Manager James Deery (each held comparable titles at Invisible Fence® when Invisible Fencing® was American made)
